What happens on completion day at the notary.

At completion you (or your lawyer under a power of attorney) sign the public deed (escritura pública) before a notary, pay the balance and receive the keys. Check that the building can legally be occupied and that any developer mortgage on the unit is cancelled or correctly allocated.
